“At The Feet” Silent Retreats

These silent retreats provide an opportunity for women to get away from regular rhythms and life’s demands in order to find true spirit/body/soul rest. If you’re desperate for a break from the world, for a chance to step away, to quiet your soul and be still and know, to sit at the feet of Jesus and have Him speak directly to your heart, then this type of retreat is for you!

Next retreat: November 8 – 10, 2024 in Blairsville, GA

“But there’s only one thing you need. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will never be taken from her.”

– Luke 10:42

Rest. Feast. Sit. Listen.

Mary sat at the Lord’s feet—listening to what He said. And Jesus says that this is best. It can never be taken from us! Rich treasures to be stored in our heart for a lifetime, for all eternity. That we can ponder, in good times and in bad.

So let me ask you: Are you sitting? Are you listening? Are you dwelling? Gazing? Inquiring? (Luke 10:39, Psalm 27:4)

Our culture certainly doesn’t make it easy, nor does it place value on this. It was countercultural then and it remains countercultural now. That’s the way of the Kingdom. The “reverse economy” of God.

If you're yearning for respite from the chaos of the world, craving an opportunity to withdraw, to calm your spirit, and experience the profound peace of simply being in the presence of Jesus, then come join me for an "At The Feet" Silent Retreat.

This is a weekend to rest and receive. To come in whatever state or season you find yourself in. Filled to overflow, first and foremost by the Spirit of God. To sleep, to feast, to laugh, to grieve, to move, to BE. As the Lord leads.

What to Expect

Friday

The retreat officially begins Friday evening with journaling. A communal dinner is provided to “awaken the senses” and to help women get out of their heads and into their hearts. Authentic conversation is facilitated. Then phones are put away and talking stops as we transition into another specific journaling experience to allow the Holy Spirit to access our hearts.

Saturday

Three meals are provided. Breakfast and lunch are taken independently and dinner communally. The majority of the day is yours to experience the rest and renewal you specifically need. An optional group activity amidst silence will be made available in the afternoon. And worship and journaling time will be offered after dinner.

Sunday

Silence is broken over a shared breakfast where we discuss what the experience was like for us and how God moved. The retreat ends mid-morning.

*Each retreat is different, based upon geographic location, accommodation type, number of attendees, and food options.

  • "'At The Feet' silent retreat was probably one of the most powerful weekends I have had in a really long time. At first, I was scared to do it: 'What if Jesus doesn't speak to me? What if, what if, what if?' But one of the things that I'm stepping into this year is doing things that scare me or that I’m afraid of. The word that God gave me was 'expectant.' I left feeling refreshed and light. It’s amazing what happens when you carve out time for God and how He comes in. I cannot recommend this retreat enough. It is worth it, because I was reminded that when we create space for God, He brings it back to us one hundredfold. Thank you for how you sit at His feet. It is evident in how you guided us to sit at His feet. And I am just beyond thankful and grateful."

  • "I went to my first silent retreat facilitated by Joy Beth as an exhausted, overwhelmed mom who couldn’t even imagine living five minutes in silence, much less two days. I just knew I needed to make space for God’s voice. I could never have imagined what God would do through this retreat. The sweetness of silence in a beautiful setting with all my needs met… delicious food, a room to myself, no clocks, no phone... all combined to restore my soul in the sweetest way. As moms, we are told everywhere that we need 'self-care,' and we think that means wine, massages, and pedicures. I’m here to tell you that THIS is the self-care you need. If you are a mom reading this and you feel the Spirit nudging you to come, don’t be afraid. The Spirit will meet you. It will be in ways you couldn’t have planned for, and it will forever change the way you care for yourself. God met me, and He changed everything!"

  • "The silent retreat led by Joy Beth was an absolute gift. She cares so deeply about hosting a perfectly comfortable environment to rest and encounter the Lord. The food was amazing, and every detail very thought out and prayed for! Do not think twice about participating in this if your schedule allows or even if it doesn't (haha)! Your heart, mind, body, and soul will thank you for days and weeks to come!

  • “The silent retreat was such a transformative experience. Joy Beth has a beautiful gift and God-given ability to create spaces filled with both peace and joy. The gentle guidance she provided throughout the weekend reminded us that we were not alone and empowered us to lean into all that God had in store. I found that the Lord truly does speak most clearly in a whisper — Joy Beth created the space I needed to reconnect with Him again.”

  • "'At The Feet' truly was a gift from the Lord. The timing was perfect and so needed. It helped me enter into rest after a challenging season. The Lord spoke such encouragement to my heart. I felt so cared for. I have already recommended it to others!"
